September 22 [Opening Day & Open House], 25, 29 [FAMILY ROSH EVENT].
October 9, 16 (erev sukkot), 20 (Sukkot celebration), Thursday 24  [Simchat Torah celebration with families starting at 6:00pm. No class.], 27, 30
November 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20
December 4, 8, 11, 15, 18
January 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29
February 2, 5, 9, 12, 19, 23, 26
March:  2, Saturday March 8th School Shabbat, Thursday March 13 (4:30pm BIRS, 5:00pm Purim Play, 6:00pm Dinner and activities.) Then:  16, 19
April 2, 6 (Passover Event), 9, 16, 23 (last Wednesday), 27 (last Sunday)

Special Dates:

September 20:  Backyard Family Erev Shabbat Picnic
September 22: Opening Day (Parents and kids)
September 29:  Rosh Hashanah Young Families Program (Last hr. of BIRS, parents welcome)
October 20:  Sukkot celebration following BIRS (Event for all BIC families)
October 24:  Young Families Dinner & Simchat Torah!  All BIRS families expected to attend.
December 15:  Pre-Hannukah Activities
March 8:  SCHOOL SHABBAT!  (All families expected to attend. No BIRS the following day.)
March 13:  Purim Play and Teacher Appreciation, and Purim activities (Parents and kids)
March 23-30: AAPS School Break
April 27: Final Day of BIRS including Awards (Parents and kids)

BIRS Days & Time Schedule

Gan Katan/Our Little Garden (Preschool) Meets: Select Sundays (see below) from 10:00am-11:00pm

Grades K-1 Meet:  Sundays (see below) from 10:00am-12:00pm

Grades 2-7 Meet:  Wednesdays (see below) from 4:30-6:00pm and Sundays (see below) from 10:00am-12:00pm

Madrichim (Grades 8-12) Meet: All Madrichim attend Sundays (see below) from 10:00am-12:00pm. Madrichim who volunteer as teacher aides may attend Wednesdays (listed below) from 4:30-6:00pm

Gan Katan Dates 2024-2025

Help us plant the seeds of friendship in our Gan Katan by enrolling your preschool-aged children here so they can play, sing, create, & learn together!

  • Gan Katan meets on Sundays during BIRS, from 10-11am in our fabulous play-room. After class, please "stay and play" with your Gan Katan friends.
  • Also, join us for Tot Shabbat on Saturdays.  *Dates are listed here.

Parent Coffee Dates 2024-2025

Smooze and snack with other BIRS parents! Lynne Caine will drop in to chat and answer any questions. Occasionally, we'll have a special guest or activity.
