Why are critical assumptions about access and opportunity, wealth and power based on a simplistic “zero-sum” equation? You are invited to engage in this discussion when Beth Israel Reads convenes at 1pm, Sunday, February 27.

In Sum of Us:  What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together, economics specialist Heather McGhee explores the lesson that generations of Americans have failed to learn: Racism has a cost for everyone—not just for people of color. The book debuted in March 2021 at #3 on The New York Times nonfiction bestseller list, and now is long-listed for the National Book Award.
