Selichot Program and Service (In-person Only)
Saturday, September 9, 2023 • 23 Elul 5783
8:30 PM - 10:00 PM“Did You Know that You Can Make a Resolution Not to Do Someone Else’s Dishes? What the Talmud Can Teach Us about Effective New Year’s Resolutions”
This year’s Selichot program will be led by Rabbi Caine. At 8:30 p.m. he will be teaching Talmudic texts describing the “Nidrei” of “Kol Nidrei”– meaning the “vows to God” individuals design for themselves in their spiritual and very practical life changes, and how we negotiate the effects and responses of others who might be affected (like those who still want their dishes done). Following the text study and discussion, Rabbi Caine will lead the brief and poignant service.
